This project is an eLearning solution. This advanced course provides workforce members with information and training on how to identify hazardous chemicals in the workplace, safely handle them, and protect those who may come in contact with hazardous chemicals while performing their roles and responsibilities in high-risk areas.
Hazardous Communications - eLearning
Note: This is a shortened demo of the actual project and all identifying elements have been removed for proprietary and privacy purposes.
Audience:
Internal employees working in high-risk areas at a healthcare organization
Tools Used:
Articulate Storyline, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe XD, Murf.AI Text-to-Speech
The Problem:
A manager from the Safety and Environmental Health department requested a learning design consultation to create a Hazardous Communications eLearning training for employees working in high-risk areas. They wanted to address specific skill gaps, listed below.
Employees were not:
Following the proper emergency eyewash procedure
Following the proper chemical spill clean up procedures
Knowledgeable on how to locate and read a Safety Datasheet
Knowledgeable on how to review a Safety sheet in advance before cleaning up a spill
The Learning Solution:
After performing a Learning Needs Analysis with a team of subject matter experts (SMEs) and employees to identify knowledge and skill gaps, I recommended creating an interactive eLearning experience that incorporates scenarios and simulations.
This solution is ideal because:
Simulations engage learners by providing a dynamic and interactive learning experience that fosters a sense of connection with the material.
Interactive content engages learners, helping them retain information.
Compliance training scenarios are great for testing an employee’s decisions based on situations.
